Summer Camps 2018

Join us for a week or more of theater in the summer! All our camps take place in our theater at 14 School Street, Brunswick. All our theater camps use improvisational exercises and games to put the emphasis on the creative process. Because our focus is theater and the stage, we spend most of our time inside working and playing - however, because it is summer, we take as many opportunities as we can to head outside for snacks, breaks, and general merriment whenever possible! Take a look at the offerings, print the registration form, and sign up! Once a class is full, it will be updated below.

It's unusual for a modern work to become a classic so quickly, but Tolkein's The Hobbit is clearly in this special category. Bilbo, one of the most conservative Hobbits, is asked to leave his comfy, roomy, and very dry home in order to set off as chief robber in an attempt to recover an important treasure. It's the last thing this sensitive Hobbit would want to do, but great benefit eventually results - not only for Bilbo but for all Hobbits who inhabit Middle Earth - and the hearts and minds of those children and adults who continue to enjoy this special kind of magic.

Produced by special arrangement with THE DRAMATIC PUBLISHING COMPANY of Woodstock, Illinois.

Rene Shwartzbuckle is cuckoo for a turnip-like vegetable called rapunzel, and 'borrows' some from Witch Izwitch's garden next door...Witch Izwitch is certainly not amused, and whisks Rene's daughter away to a tower in the forest. From here, a boisterously entertaining rescue attempt begins!  Can Prince Llewellyn persevere over the powers of evil?  Filled with plenty of action and fresh, hysterical characters (such as the sages Parsley, Rosemary and Thyme!), this show gives a new twist to an old story and a gentle message about the nature of beauty.

Produced by special arrangement with PIONEER DRAMA SERVICE.
