Play Submissions
The Theater Project is seeking submissions for our 4th Annual Winter Cabaret!
Our Winter Cabaret is an annual production that brings together our community through laughs and heartwarming one acts in the coldest parts of the Maine Winter. We bring to life original comedies with a professional cast, music, and desserts throughout! Our Winter Cabaret runs January 29th - February 7th, 2027.
This year, we are seeking one-act comedies not longer than 10 minutes for no more than 6 actors. In order to uplift and engage with our local theater community, we are only seeking submissions from Maine playwrights.
Playwrights may submit a maximum of 2 scripts. Please do not include any identifying information on your script as we undergo a blind reading when choosing scripts. Playwrights must be ages 18 or older to submit their script. There is no fee to submit your play.
If your play is chosen, you will not be compensated monetarily, but your show will be produced by an incredible cast and crew! You will be invited to attend a playwright talkback on Saturday, January 30th to share more about your work.
Play submissions are open between August 10th-August 31st. Scripts will be reviewed in September. You will be contacted by October 1st regarding the status of your play submission.
