Looking Forward (and backward) to ‘The Thirty Nine Steps’
Greetings all, and welcome to the beginning of a new decade!
So what do sleuths - amateur and otherwise, British aristocrats, professors, chief inspectors, mysterious seductresses, and myriad other characters, along with train rides and chase scenes through the Scottish moors have in common? … And what the heck is a Garibaldi Biscuit anyway?
The answer to these and other urgent questions will be revealed in The Theater Project’s first production of the year, Patrick Barlow’s The Thirty Nine Steps, directed by Al Miller - wherein four actors play approximately one hundred roles in a mystery-whodunnit-adventure-comedy that is sure to leave us all on the edge of our seats.

For me, I have memories from the long ago of my father extolling the joys of reading John Buchan’s novel as a youngster and then watching the black and white version of the movie at a local film festival on a very fuzzy screen. In the darkness of the movie theater, a young Alfred Hitchcock began to exercise his ability to manipulate chiaroscuro and cinematic detail to draw out tension and character to tell a ripping good story.
Here in a small theater you will have the chance to live in the immediate moment with these characters as they all struggle to reach a cliff hanging conclusion to this classic yarn.

However you like your drama/comedy/mystery/suspense drawn up - this production is sure to bring us out of the winter doldrums.
